The time has come and we are moving to a new blog engine. The posts have all been moved over. I will leave this old site up for a while until closing it down completely. So please update your book marks and RSS feeds.

Bridgit has mentioned a few times that she would like to blog about food, so tonight we are launching the Cook Family Food Blog.

but the title of the site is no longer titled tomcook.net. Bridgit keeps saying that she is going to start posting (yeah right) and now that I have a family postings are not all about me. I will get Eli posting as soon as I can. He does have some artwork, maybe I should scan it...

So I have used my own self hosted and run image gallery software for a long time, but I thought I would give the two main contenders a shot. I am leaning more toward Picasa because there is an iPhoto plugin so I can upload them straight out.

It has been a while since I have last posted. Things have been really busy at work and at home. I will try to get a couple posts out today.

So I have been meaning to do some updates to the whole theme of the site, but haven't really had the time in the past nine or so months. The site has been pretty much unchanged since December of 2004. Today I decided that the image of Betsy and Shea in a canoe was getting a little old, but I couldn't decided on a picture to replace it with, so I set it up so that it would randomly pull an image from a pool. There are currently 28 images that it pulls from, so have fun.

You may also notice that there is a theme that most of the pictures seem to follow. It is hard trying to find images that fit a 550x180 pixel window.

I have been sick, thats my excuse. I am still recovering from a cold. A couple weeks ago I update the EJ site: http://tomcook.net/ej. There are some new pictures and a new movie.

Those of you out there who use a mac and have 10.4(Tiger) or better can now download a widget for my blog. You no longer have to constantly click refresh to see if I have updated.

For those windows users out there Widgets are the thing that M$ coped when it included "Gadgets" in Windows Vista.

So apparently its been over a month since I last posted to my blog. Well hopefully today there will be some updates.

but luckily my web page has not. I also don't have internet set up at the new place yet, so I will only have sporadic internet access.

I will be taking the keep the dates to the post office tomorrow, so I have been spending some time getting our wedding site updated and looking pretty. It's on the same CMS that this site is on, making life easy. Alos there is now a photo gallery.

Since I got engaged traffic to my site has doubled. Read more for a nifty graph....in color.

I noticed that old posts were getting comment spam from someone selling direct TV. I am now forced to use a captcha test before you can post comments...I hate to do it, but what must be done must be done...

I am going to stick with the blue-ish stuff. I also got a cool picture for the header. If you are wondering who it is, its Shea and Betsy on our 2004 Algonquin trip. There are more pictures from that trip in my photo ablum.

So I got a new layout for my main site. There are a couple different color themes that I need to customize/decide upon but the overall layout will be like this. I haven't changed the colors on my recipe book to match the new site because I have no color scheme yet. Once that is pounded out I will adjust the recipe book.
