So earlier in the month I had jury duty and was selected for a trial that happened today. It was a civil suit between a homeowners association and a tenant. They whole thing was over a 11×18 deck that was removed because the basement was leaking and it was in the way.The woman paid about $1300 to have it built and wants $7150 now to have it replaced. She had it built with free labor and the deck was 8 years old so we gave her $1980.
The jury sat around in the little room from 9am to 11:20am, heard openings and the woman's 2 witnesses then broke for lunch. at 1:30pm we came back to sit around for another 30 minutes to find that we just had closing arguments to hear. We heard them then deliberated for about 20-30 minutes, and then were out at about 3pm.
