It looks as though I will have a second canoe by the end of the week. I am getting a used Dagger Sojourn and I am really excited about it. I have been wanting a solo canoe for a while now. I will need to find room in the barn for a second canoe. I will also need to figure out how to get a second canoe on my car, I might need to get new bars….

It just hit me today. I had a conversation with someone at work today about spring and canoeing, and I got into a tizzy. This was only egged on when Dan called me at lunch with the news that an old friend called him with a stable of five canoes that he's trying to sell. Two of those canoes I want to buy (a solo boat for both Bridgit and I). All of that combined with an unusually high amount of coffee today and I am ready to bounce off wall and destroy things!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't get a chance to paddle at all in January, I think that this weekend its going to be in the 40's so I might go out in the river where its not frozen over. Not the best time to tip….

It was beautiful out (for the time of year). It was sunny and in the high 40's, so I went paddling. All the leaves have changed, and most are off the trees. We have had quite a bit of rain and snow over the past couple weeks, so the water is higher that it was last month.

I went canoeing this evening in almost 40 degree weather. It was lightly drizzling but I figure that there aren't many more days this season to get out canoeing.

Pretty much finished cleaning my canoe up. Put on three coats of boiled linseed oil. It looks pretty, you can check it out here

Im buying a Swift Kipawa from Rendezvous near Grand Rapids. Its pretty: Champagne color hull, ash outwales, and chery inside on the seats, thwarts, and inwales. Going to look at it and hopefully pick it up on Saturday.

Talking with a Swift dealer in Grand Rapids about a Kipawa. I almost bought a Bell Northwind this past weekend cause I thought it was a Northstar. Stupid North names confusing me.

Also my Yakima rack came today. Need to get Q3 clips for it. It came with Q18's. Anybody need a set of Q18's? They are for a '92-'95 BMW 3 series sedan.

So I found a used Kipawa on the MEC gearswap. I got pictures of it here. I love the color, but Swift does not make that color, at least anymore. So I wonder if its faded. Let me know what you think. Retail on it is almost $2000CDN and he is asking $900CDN(~$700USD).
